Oak treads are first sanded and stained a custom color of the customers choice. We usually match the wood treads to the color of the wood flooring or wood cabinets.

The old wood stairs were carpeted and round. My client felt that round steps were not modern enough and wanted them square. I could have also done these treads round just like the old steps but that's not what the designer ordered. So we first had to rebuild the old steps.

The custom Oak treads are being installed and look great with the stair railings. I really prefer solid oak treads over a wood flooring or a laminate flooring staircase because there is no need for a separate stair nose.

Before the railings can be installed a stringer must first go over the side to cover the side of the tiles and finish off the staircase.

This cable railing is 1/8 thick by 1 x 19 wrap. The posts are wood and painted white. The Cable railing is really simple but really stands out and great if you want that modern look.
